I was able to release the glove compartment and found the front of the air conditioner filter box had broken off and was restricting the closure of the glove front. I was able to DUCT tape the piece back into place and replace glove compartment. I think they changed my filter on last service. WebIf the glove box was closed wrong than the latch that keeps the glove box shut will close on itself. If you take a pen or a screwdriver and put little pressure on it and try the handle again it should open. if thats not the case than replace the handle, the locking mechanism with in the handle or the spring broke or came apart.
